freddy kruegger raps?

well that’s not such a big shock. everyone rapped in the 80’s. but you do learn some other surprising things about freddy in this video…

1.) he’s related to the fat boys.

2.) he apparently took the time to write a will.

3.) his legal name is actually frederick.

but most surprising of all….

…he raps!!!

where did contestants disappear to on mtv’s “remote control?”
written by jenni on 10/25/07 leave a comment

i used to have an odd fascination with the old 80s mtv game show remote control. i really, really, wanted to know where the contestents went when they were ousted from the show. was it really as horrific as they made it out to be? was it actually the gateway to narnia? the possibilities were endless!

of course, now i know the truth is far less mysterious and probably involved a greenroom that stunk of week-old beer and some half-ass craft service table.

donal logue on mtv. oh the irony!
written by daroff on 10/11/07 1 comment

donal logue. you know, that guy from the tao of steve, grounded for life, sneakers, blade, 3 ninjas knuckle up, and every vh-1 special where celebrities talk about the past. before he was mr. cool character actor guy, he did spots for mtv as this ultra new york cab driver. i remember seeing this once when i was young and actually watching mtv for hours just to see it again. i never did. he does a hilarious take on how wholly un-ironic the alanis morrisette song is. thanks to my friend kris jenson for finding it. it’s like going crazy, when you’re already nuts.

every second of “talk dirty to me” is amazing
written by eric on 09/18/07 1 comment

poison’s music video for their first hit single, “talk dirty to me,” might be the most amazing thing ever. yeah, you heard me “sabotage” - you can eat a big, hard one.

the reason its so incredible - every action, every second of time, every frame of film contains something that is totally boss.

though impossible to document every single fantastic moment of this music video, let’s look at some of the highlights (or super highlights if you will).

00:00 - wait a minute, there’s another poison video playing on the tv in the shot! this band is a gift that just keeps on giving!

00:10 - ha, the mom thinks bret michaels is a “nice boy.” too bad her daughter wants to do some very naughty things to bret.
(also, he’s not even technically listening to her phone sex. sorry chick, but he’s bret michaels; he gets it all the time.)

00:16 - yo, did you check out all those guitars?

00:19 - and there is our first high-five of the video. niiiiiice.

00:21 - triple kick!
