saturday morning cartoon - opera cartoons

saturday morning is a time for culture and not for fun or cartoons.  well, maybe you can have all of those things, despite what the buddy bears would have you believe. enjoy “the garfield opera” and the looney tunes classic “the rabbit of seville” — but don’t enjoy them too much, cause they’re good for you.

garfield’s “halloween” musical numbers are a lucid nightmare

i am so confused!

when garfield the cat regales us with his costume conundrum, the colorful possibilities are supplied by none other than voice over veteran lorenzo music.

and yet when its time for him to walk the streets at night (and enjoy massive amounts of candy), the singing voice is none other than recognizable r&b sensation lou rawls.

is this also supposed to be the voice of garfield? what is going on?

denver the last dinosaur
he’s my friend and a whole lot…
bwaaaaa?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

“a whole lot more” - what does that mean?

i just want to be friends.

what’s the deal with dinosaurs over-stepping their boundaries? you want to keep things fairly cretaceous, and all they want to do is make things homo erectus?!

ben affleck goes on a voyage of the mimi
written by geoffrey on 07/22/08 leave a comment

many kids were forced to watch voyage of the mimi, a multi-part educational tv series meant to be shown in classrooms.  you might have vague memories of dozing off during this science show, but you probably don’t remember that ben affleck got his start on this series, as one of the kid actors / interviewers.

here’s little ben quizzing a scientist in an arctic wind tunnel.  be sure to check out 1:28 for a glimpse into ben affleck’s soul.

10 awesome 80’s cartoon theme songs
written by geoffrey on 06/30/08 4 comments

on youtube, this is called “top 10 cartoon theme songs from the 80’s,” which i couldn’t agree less with.  but these guitar-and-synth 80’s action themes, most of which are looking to the transformers song as a model, are all completely rockin’.  spiiiiiiiraaaaaal zoooooone!
