tabs, new cake, and more…
written by overtime on 02/09/08 2 comments

we made some awesome changes to the site today. here’s a run-down:

tmnt1987series.jpg

1. tabs up top, which highlight our running features like weekly trivia and saturday morning cartoons.

2. new cake! we got sick of having our dumb mugs on the thing, so we turned it into a terrified person.

3. we’re broadening our fucking horizons. we’re gonna blog everyday on retro culture, like usual, but over time we’re gonna start blogging on other stuff geeks like, which may or may not be retro related. to start, the “strange internet,” which includes pointless mashups and weird youtube oddities.

in conclusion, enjoy our slightly different website!

help beowulf by not seeing “beowulf”
written by asterios on 11/16/07 leave a comment

here’s what beowulf would be like with legos.

well, we all knew this would happen. we’ve been faced with a choice: go see beowulf this weekend, or instead, give that 10 dollars to help over half a million people displaced by cyclone sidr.

on one hand, beowulf is a pretty great movie. i saw it, and have to say, the acting was impeccable, particularly anthony hopkins. on the other hand, earlier today, an entire island in the barisal district was submerged under six feet of water, causing homes to be literally swept away and destroyed…

care bears destroyed on youtube
written by geoffrey on 10/15/07 leave a comment

overtime has a sister site called pointless mashups, where i scour the internets for weirdly ridiculous video mashups that people post on youtube.

the above video is a great example. in this clip, someone took scenes from the care bears movie, digitally took out a color, and replaced that color with scenes from natural born killers. why? no one knows!

for more ridiculousness, visit pointlessmashups.com
