ironywatch: toys”R”us written by geoffrey on 07/24/08
i’m always on the look out for new things to appreciate ironically. this is ironywatch.
thinking about suspending your hormonal development so you never have to grow up, and therefore can remain a toys”R”us kid forever? great idea! as a kid, toys”R”us was the most fun place in the world, where you could beg and scream at your parents to buy you the ghostbusters HQ playset (complete with fireman’s pole and ectoplasm). as an adult, you’ll find the complete lack of atmosphere and fun nothing short of hilarious.
here’s a picture of what toys”R”us looks like today:

it’s like a food4less with toys! hooray!! i love the magical rafters and twinkling florescent lights. looking at this today, i’m kind of sad that i dragged by grandma there so many times.
so, if you want to have a good time in a depressingly lit warehouse of defective transformers backpacks, ironywatch proudly endorses toys”R”us, where an adult can become disillusioned about their childhood.

…where an adult can become disillusioned about their childhood.
You should consider pitching that slogan to them.

Though it may have always been a shotty warehouse, Toys’R'Us seems to lack good toys now. I used to buy Skeleton Warriors and Monster Cars all the time, now every toy is based of a movie (I’m looking at you ‘Kung Fu Panda’.) They need to redo the old Ninja Turtles line (Yes, even Giraffeketball - to fight with, or against the Ninja Turtles) cause those figures kicked ass.

@Hexen: There are actually two ninja turtle toy lines right now.
Great post, I never really thought about it this way.
