here’s the pilot demonstration executives at warner bros. commissioned to see what batman: the animated series would look and feel like. normally, these sorts of pilots are really rough (check out this one for family guy), but here they’re obviously very far along in defining the mood and style of the show.

That wasn’t actually a real pilot for Family Guy. I’m pretty sure that was Seth Macfarlane’s senior project at RISD. That Youtube poster is misinformed.
Great find with Batman, though. I had never seen that before. The animation is great, a little better than the show itself, even.

you’re absolutely right, alex. this pilot pitch wasn’t commissioned by fox, but it helped him (along with the “larry short” he made for cartoon network) sell the show to them.
