the healing power of “livin’ la vida loca” written by daroff on 04/17/08
watch the video, i dare you
when it comes to songs that won’t get out of your head, there are two distinctive types. (a) a song that’s amazingly annoying, that gets played all over the radio for an entire summer. that won’t get out of your head, no matter how hard you try. (b) a catchy song you really like, that you just had to listen to over and over again, that you will soon hate for life because it won’t leave your brain.
how do you prevent yourself from hating a type b song? simple. just think of livin’ la vida loca. this song’s infectious hook trumps all other songs. i know after years of trying, you finally got it out of your head, but i’m telling you, it’s better than coming to hate a song you might love for life.
here’s the thing, though. if you’ve read this far, that trumpet section is already embedded in your frontal lobe. it’s there, and it will take another five years to get it out. on the plus side, you probably can’t even remember what was stuck in your head before.
