did anyone actually care enough to beat this game?

i played this game once on my college roommate’s nintendo emulator. why? because kid icarus was on captain n. having played this game, i’m left to wonder why they included this lame-ass video game character.

simon belmont is awesome, and they put a great twist on his character by making him a giant buffoon. mega man was great with that creepy, little voice. even mother brain was a sweet choice of villain.

but kid icarus was a lame character in a stupid game. way to trick me into playing this game, captain n. you win.

    You dont like Kid Icarus? Its a classic! Not to mention, after owning it for years, ive never been able to beat it. But yeah, in Brawl, Pit is a murder machine.

    calling it a classic doesn’t make it good. it could have become a classic for any number of reasons, and one of those reasons doesn’t necessarily have to be that it was fun to play.

    go check out a list of “classic” movies or tv shows, and usually a good third of them are boring as hell. the other day i saw “the two jakes” on amc. amc! that’s supposed to be american movie classics. “the two jakes” sucked.

    Thats true. But my defnition of a classic is a Good Game. In what way is it not awesome? Its like many NES games, just better. Its challangeing. Controlles work. Its not short as hell (Though I bet it could be done quickly in a speed run.) There are weapon and health upgrades. The scrolling wall (ala Mario Bros) adds a new elemnt of strategy. Hearts work as a currency system. Also, its just fun to play. Basicly Kid Icarus is awesome. Well, thats why I think its good, anyway. What makes you think it sucks?

    I don’t mind Kid Icarus, but I can’t make it past the first few levels. Damn Grim Reapers.
