nintendo revisited: super mario 3 written by daroff on 02/19/08
i love speed runs way too much
i think i finally nailed the joy of super mario brothers 3. it’s not the level design, it’s not the vibrant colors, and it’s not the sweet music. it’s not the superb boss battles, it’s not the twisting storyline, and it’s not the bad ass hammer brothers suit. these are all factors, but the truth is that the basic joy of super mario 3 is all the secrets. every level has something to discover. it’s a raymond chandler mystery, full of unexpected power ups in unexpected places.
and i know where all of them are, which makes me waaaaay smarter than you!

I had a dream where I had the Hammer Bros. suit in Half-Life. I guess I’m not trying to say that it was a cool weapon in Half-Life so much as how sad it is I dreamed about video games.

speeddemosarchive.com There’s a guy that beat FF7 in like 7hr20min.
I like the cannon level where he keeps getting 1ups ^^

This guy is a show-off. Because he can’t wizz through the battle tank, he just gets tons of 1-ups. What a jerk, Though, strangley, I wish I were as good as that crazy asian Mario 3 Wizard.
