top 5 lasagna cat videos

the internet machine is working fast at sending out the latest video craze: lasagna cat. what is lasagna cat? they’re re-enactments of garfield comic strips by real actors in suits & make-up, followed by mini music videos. this project is truly a labor of love (or intense garfield-hatred) for comedy group fatal farm: they produced 28 separate videos, all with suprisingly good production values. you can watch them all here, or first have a look at our five favorites…

#5: 4/16/2007 (hitting)

in comic strip form, you never realize the awkwardness of a cat standing upright and smacking its owner on the head. they’ve captured the weirdness of the moment in this clip, and then cashed in on it by replaying the hit over and over in the music video. also, i wish i owned garfield baseball cards. also, i wish i played on a team called “the humans.”

#4: 6/15/07 (purse)

#3: 3/24/79 (dance)

jon’s slow smirk to garfield as he forces him to dance makes me laugh at loud, and the addition of the written sound cues is very funny. however, the music video to bailamos afterwards is what makes this piece priceless. the on-screen spanish, the transitions — es muy bueno.

#2: 8/18/78 (final fantasy)

all the lasagna cat videos are pretty popular, but this one is going through the roof thanks to gaming blogs. this is even better than robot chicken’s final fantasy parody, and the jab at jim davis at the end is sweet. but the spell that kills garfield is easily the funniest thing in the video.

#1: 10/25/04 (pumpkin)

my only complaint about this one is that it ends too soon. i wish there were ten more minutes of this. i love it so much.

    YES! I watched all of these a few days before.
    They are all so amazingly genius.
    I would say:

    1. Final Fantasy
    2. Jon uses the Catbrush (Head like a hole)
    3. Hitting (Hit me with you’re best shot)
    4. Danceing (Balismos)
    5. ALL the rest (I cannot choose)

    They are basicly the funniest thing ive seen in months.
