no kidding, the only tom and huck video on the web

oh, the mid nineties. my sister was in middle school, which could only mean one thing. sleep over! twelve girls crammed into a living room for the night. how are they going to make it without getting totally bored? rent tom and huck, of course. i know what you’re thinking, “but mark twain is something we learned about in school.” while that may be true, this movie was way more about ogling two rising teen heart throbs, jonathan taylor thomas and brad renfro, than navigating the clever world of samuel clemens.

then suddenly after this movie, both of them just sort of disappeared. they both took a few good roles and here and there, but tom and huck seemed to grind their teen idol adventure to a stop. maybe it’s incredibly difficult to make the transition from teen girl finger fantasy to serious thespian, but i think they just got ugly as they got older. no one wants to go to a movie to see ugly people.
