what’s wrong with the fantastic four opening? written by geoffrey on 10/08/07
uh-oh! something is wrong with the opening sequence from the fantastic four cartoon. watch the intro closely and see if you can figure it out. (answer after the jump)
answer: though they explained the powers of mr. fantastic, sue richards, and ben grimm, they didn’t describe the powers of their group’s most beloved member, h.e.r.b.i.e. the robot.

What the heck? Did they just not get the rights to have Johnny Storm in the show or what?

the rumor was that executives thought kids would set themselves on fire to be like him. turns out not to be true. wikipedia says that it’s because they were going to make a movie out of the human torch, and therefore the rights to the character were tied up.

so of course, they replaced him with a robot.
