saturday morning cartoons: top 5 cartoons starring celebrities!
written by asterios on 08/04/07

traditional cartoons characters can go to hell. give me cartoon facimilies of people i already care about!

#5. hammerman

when i was little, my friends and i would joke that hammerman’s magically inflating parachute pants were actually a result of massive pants pooping. i still believe that theory today.

#4.  rick moranis in gravedale high

it’s not just “gravedale high” - it’s “rick moranis in gravedale high”. that’s the full title of the show. clearly, the network knew what would get the kids watching: the promise of lots and lots of rick moranis.

#3. wish kid

macauly culkin stars in this cartoon about a kid with a wish granting baseball mitt. in the opening sequence, he chases a bully with an F-15 fighter jet. overkill? sure, but it’s pretty awesome.

#2. prostars

the into to this cartoon involves the words hot, jammin, pro & slammin, all within the same 4 seconds. this cartoon does not at all live up to the hype.

#1. camp candy

this cartoon is clearly the greatest celebrity cartoon of all time. who the hell doesn’t love john candy? if he were running my camp as a kid, there’d have been 12 desserts a day, and tons of SCTV references! instead i just got lyme disease. damn you, non camp candy camps!

    sorry kurt,

    ed grimley’s not a celebrity, he’s a fictional character.

but i know how you feel, he’s surely real to me.

    kurt! how was NYC?

y’know, the two i really were on the fence about were both SCTV properties: ed grimley and the count floyd show. oddly enough, both rick moranis and john candy made the list, and they’re both SCTV alum too.

but martin short is the best alum from anything. SCTV. college. life. broadway. eat a dick asterios.

    just remembered today,

    Macaulay Culkin’s “Wish Kid.”

I sure hope that kid’s every wish comes true.

Come on ProStars totally lived up to the hype.

It was totall hot, jammin’ and pro…you may have a point about it being not being slammin’ though.
