i can’t stop whistling the bubble man theme
written by daroff on 07/27/07

thank you youtube user raspo86 for the best rendition on the net

the music from mega man 2 rocked by balls so hard i was sterile from 1994-1997. once that 8-bit sound got going, i was in it for the long haul. i was ready to punch through eight levels of robots, followed by dr. wily’s endless castle/laboratory full of even more robots.

no song got more adrenaline pumping than bubble man’s theme. moreover, it’s catchy as hell, and it has been stuck in my head for weeks.  so, as a gift to you, after the jump, i give you the video game cover band the minibosses playing a ten-minute suite of the entire game of mega man 2.

That was pretty good, but I’ve heard a rendition of the Bubbleman theme that’s just as good. There’s a podcast called Retro Remix which features covers of classic game tunes, and they recently had a two part special dedicated to Mega Man 2. It’s by far one of the best renditions I’ve heard so far.
