johnny arcade is dying out there written by geoffrey on 07/18/07
i feel bad for this guy. imagine it’s 1991 and you’re struggling actor stivi paskoski. you just got your “big break” as the host of a kids game show called video power, which is essentially just a giant ad for the batman video game. you’re giving it all you’ve got as wacky host johnny arcade — wisecracks, jokes, impressions, you’re really laying it all out there for these kids. and how do they respond? dead silence. freaked out stares. general malaise. total game over, man.
you shouldn’t feel too bad for him, though, because he’s painfully, ridiculously unfunny.

he uh…he shouldn’t be touching those kids so much.

also, he shouldn’t be clearly giving the white kid preferential treatment.

why did he adjust the kids positioning at the podium? it wasn’t like they were standing in the wrong spot, he just moved them to be closer to him.
holy shit is this guy coked out of his mind. i love that he’s actively trying to upstage the kids for attention.
