richie rich (the movie) is on telemundo right now in glorious spanish overdubbing. if watching that guy from lost boys and chrysler commercials cavort as an awkwardly hispanic rich man ain’t the most romantic scenario possible, i don’t know what is. maybe blank check in swedish.

too bad the youtube-o-sphere is slacking off and there isn’t a single fucking clip from richie rich to be found, let alone its spanish counterpart, rico rico.

there is, however, this awful intro for the probably equally awful richie rich cartoon. maybe i’m crazy, but they totally rip off part of the scooby doo theme in there somewhere. not to mention rhyming “name” with “name.” c’mon richie, buy yourself somebody decent to write your theme song. may i suggest klaus nomi? surely a kid who’s just as affluent as scrooge mcduck and half as exciting can afford to raise somebody from the dead.
