if i had a time machine: the desmond pfeiffer edition
written by jenni on 05/15/07

if i could go back in time, i would find a way of making myself the most powerful tv executive in the universe and chi mcbride would currently be staring in his 9th season of the secret diary of desmond pfeiffer. i would also employ him as the narrator for the fantastic documentary marching home about my parents’ civil war reenacting unit.

the super-ultra-mega-suble transition into a personal plug exists after the jump…

want to see this fantastic documentary? well, now you can! on saturday may 19th, the westside eclectic in santa monica, california is hosting the world premiere. you can meet me! and real, live civil war reenactors! in costume! and maybe chi mcbride will be there if i get the time machine finished in time. more details and easy access to presale tickets are just a click away!

I totally forgot about that show. Ah…back when UPN was still a newborn and innocent.

Wow, I remember watching, and liking, this show. Too bad I didn’t last. I remember Lincoln trying to hide the fact that he was having “telegraph sex” with a woman, but it turned out to be his crazy-ass wife the whole time.

Though my favorite memory was Shermen Hemsley as a Union spy named Jefferson. “The Rebels will be here soon. We best be movin’ on up.”

just think: if desmond pheiffer was a really popular show, it might have been going into its 11th season this year.

by this point, desperate for story ideas, they might have been tempted to change history, and through some kind of crazy government loophole, desmond would actually have become president.

desmond’s first executive order: roll up all carpet baggers into a giant carpet! (which they would show happening.)

Desmond could become president after he singlehandedly captures John Wilkes Booth and becomes a national hero. That would, of course, have to immediately follow “A Very Special Desmond Pfeiffer” in which Lincoln is assassinated. :(
