sifl and olly: happiness + tragedy = education written by evan on 03/05/07
sifl and olly. unpronounceable genius sock puppets. you either loved, hated, were indifferent towards, or were unaware of this show’s existence (i think that covers all the bases). these guys are one of the last relics of the era when mtv showed some truly bizarre shit like liquid television, the head and the maxx and the zazz. i may have made that last one up.
even ten years ago, when video production equipment wasn’t being distributed in boxes of cereal, sifl and olly looks like it could have been produced for literally no money. now, you could probably generate money by producing this show. And I don’t mean by selling it to google or warren buffet…i mean that the loose change you would inevitably find while searching for the appropriate socks would more than recoup the production costs. watching sifl and olly on youtube seems so appropriate, so it’s crazy to think about when this was a half-hour show you could watch on a god damn television. ah, those were the days (shakes walker menacingly).
