top five reasons why 1987’s the monster squad is the best movie ever made. ever.
written by jenni on 02/14/07

5. characterization: it shows teens, pre-teens, and fat kids all getting along in harmony (though girls still have a hard time…baby steps people, baby steps).

4. dialogue: it calls a five-year old girl a “bitch” and has frankenstein saying “bogus” in the same scene!

3. hotness factor: ryan lambert is in it. and that more than makes up for the ladies getting a bum deal (see above).

(yes, this is not a clip from the movie. but i think ryan lambert’s appearance in the same season of kids incorporated as fergie should be included as evidence)

2. music montage: you gotta admit, this fucking awesome music montage is not bogus. rock until you drop muthafuckas!

1. invention: i looked up the word “nards” on dictionary.com. all they had was an acronym: national agricultural research and development. but somehow, wolfman still has them.

i challenge you to attempt to refute this airtight claim. 1987’s the monster squad is the greatest cinematic creation of all time. ever. deal with it.

Not to mention that the vortex was able suck up a car, but not a not-bolted-down, turned-over park bench.

I’m sorry, but watching Rutger Hauer as a vampire say “Oh, puh-leeze” was worth watching the rest of the crappy movie. (I also could never get into the TV series.) Rutger Hauer alone trumps Monster Squad IMHO.

one time i had to babysit a kid’s birthday party where they watched this movie.

all i remember is the night ended with bleeding from the head.

don’t hire me to babysit, ever.

I am all for reason #1. I have actually mentioned that “The Wolfman’s got nards.” line is , if nothing else, is why it needs to be put on DVD. 3 months later I find this pops up on amazon.com - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Q6GUKM/ref=wl_it_dp/103-1111055-8511035?ie=UTF8&coliid=I3EZ0K69DZRDYE&colid=2P6RAY5EY3W4G
