headline: denver the last dinosaur more relevant in hebrew written by dave on 02/07/07
sure, i watched denver, the last dinosaur, that harrowing docu-toon about the difficulty of providing freedom for a rock ‘n roll dinosaur, and if there’s two things the establishment hates, it’s rock ‘n roll and dinosaurs. it was a good uplifting program, showing us how only a handful of courageous young people could make a difference in the lives of the recently-hatched.
but i didn’t truly understand the show until i heard the theme song in hebrew.
denver’s contant persecution? his loneliness in the face of a big ole hostile world? his hard-working nature and excellent financial sense? denver represents the jews!
i would totally be the king of my high school lit class.
this version of the theme song in french, however, means absolutely nothing. except that the french suck at 80s rock anthems.
is he calling denver a “deeno-dog”? ’cause that’s bullshit.

I recently came across the Hebrew “Denver” myself and was intrigued. But not so much by the implications of Denver representing international Jewry as the fact that their language sounds ridiculous. Has nobody ever had the decency to tell them how silly they sound?
