“whose line?” or a shakespeare spin-off? written by dave on 01/12/07
drew carey’s minions have no answers on whose (american) line is it anywa(merica)y? usa edition.
gary oldman and tim roth on a question quest in the hamlet spin-off rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead.
look, there was this bet, you see… the bet was that i couldn’t connect colin mochrie to shakespeare and i freakin’ did it! so eat that, eighth grade english teacher! tastes like somebody added just a pinch of extra humility to that humble pie…
let me first say that rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead rocks my theatrical socks off. there have been many times that i’ve been written out of my own life, so i certainly relate to the plight of these two bewildered side characters. but the point is this: i don’t have a point. i simply haphazardly threw two similar things together in a meaningless juxtaposition.
perhaps you could conclude that the whose line? crew has class and sophistication — that they come from the same theatrical background as the playwright tom stoppard. or perhaps you could draw the thematic conclusion that improv can give meaning to your life, like it does briefly for the ever-so-lost rosencrantz and guildenstern and like it has for our canadian friend, colin mochrie. there’s a world of bullshit out there to explore! but i’m not gonna force it on you.
as a special bonus, here’s some college kids who, upon realizing they needed ads for their upcoming production of rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead, did the only logical thing: they turned rosencrantz and guildenstern into the mac and pc from those apple ads.
again, i say only: no comment.
