overtime comedy’s best of the 90’s shopping guide: cartoons for sale! written by geoffrey on 12/20/06
in part two of our series on things you should buy for other people, but secretly wish you were buying for yourself, are cartoons from the 90’s. if you think the 80’s had great cartoons, you’re right!
here are cartoons from the 90’s on dvd:
the tick: season 1 ($25 - deepdiscountdvd.com) - no, not the live action series with patrick walburton. no, i’m not saying that condescendingly. no, i didn’t hate it — with a little more action, it would have worked great. no, i realize they were going for more of a y
ou seinfeld thing. know what, just buy the fucking cartoon.
a pup named scooby doo: volume 5 ($9 - deepdiscountdvd.com) - hey, how about giving us — the people — a scooby snack! stop putting out these lame four episode dvds. not that i’ll ever buy a full season of a pup named scooby doo, but i hate these four episodes per disc rip-off poo vomits.
darkwing duck: season 1 ($25 - deepdiscountdvd.com) - no one would want to go out and purchase a darkwing duck dvd (notable exception: overtime’s own john ford), but anyone would be happy to receive it as a gift. sure, it’ll take them months to get around to watching it, but when they do, they’ll finally become good people.
batman beyond: season 1 ($20 - deepdiscountdvd.com) - batman is way beyond at this point.
daria: season… oh, wait. this doesn’t exist yet. damn it. wait, there are two volumes worth of pinky and the brain available. that’s everything a gift receiving person would ever want. buy, buy, buy!
