the maximum carnage allowed by law… pansy law, that is. written by dave on 12/18/06
i love the maximum carnage series. it was the greatest excuse to have fourteen issues of nothing but massive, two-pager brawls. any amount of plot was only tacked on so as to make for more friggin’ heroes or more weird, out-of-left-field villians. it was a magical time, and a magical place to be.
now, this maximum carnage video game… well, since i was but a young, ignorant fellow, i kept playing it, but looking back, the game did not deliver in its promise of the most fucking carnage you can find anywhere. it was almost void of carnage.
while you’re swinging around decking tough thugs that go by the name of “Haydn” or “Bret,” and all of whom either look like gambit from x-men or public enemy’s chuck d, you can also call in the help of your candy-ass friends like iron fist, who kinda flies onto the screen and bores the enemies into leaving.
but where were the brawls where you have to play spidey and venom and black cat while duking it out with carnage and demogoblin and whatever else crawled out of the sewers that day? and where is the scene where you’ve gotta rescue some poor schmucks that are being hacked and ripped apart by carnage’s bloody claws?! simply put, those scenes are not there.
overall, it required gallons more blood, and fewer villians named “malcolm.”
and a film version… oh how it requires a film version…
