weekend musical spotlight: the california raisins
written by geoffrey on 11/04/06

ready for some thanksgiving dinner? well, i hope your musical appetite is as big as your stomach, because if it’s not, then i’m gonna slap your face!

playing live at the overtime arena in hollywood, via old pre-taped commercials — here they are: a.c., beebop, stretch and red: THE CALIFORNIA RAISINS! yay!!!!!!!

doesn’t matter what time of night it is, just so long as there’s soul-ing to be done.

construction workers make up 65% of the raisins’ fanbase.

sure, you can like gum, cookies and pretzels… if you’re a chump. are you a chump? just be honest with me, one way or the other.

they even got their own animated show! here are parts two and three. apparently they do like cookies. who knew?

it’s been a long and bumpy ride for the california raisins. here’s an increbibly authentic, non-jokey historical retrospective on their career. they didn’t make anything up, and some people really do have carrot heads. (Parts two and three)
