ghostbusters music video: who you gonna call? the eighties!!!

“bustin’ makes me feel good.” i couldn’t agree more, ray parker jr.

really, i’m just jealous of that woman in the video. how great would it be to sneak into an old spooky townhouse and end up smack-dab in the middle of the eighties! god, the magic of film. but not all’s well for her — oh no. she has to deal with a bunch of pesky kids shouting at her, and the poor, sorrowful sight of ray parker jr. wishing he were in the thriller video. it almost brings me to tears when he “thriller dances” down the stairs at her… poor parker jr. you coulda been a contender.

admittedly, the video could’ve used a bit more neon-tube-outlined furniture, but it more than makes up for that in what-the-fuck-are-they-doing-there cameos. jeffrey tambor? norm from cheers? al franken?! the only guy who could’ve ever possibly busted ghosts is fucking columbo, so i guess that cameo is plausible.

but the eighties were a magical place where these sorts of things could happen. so i’m off now to look for that spooky old townhouse that dared to kidnap the eighties…
