clue jr: remember when kids were pussies?
written by geoffrey on 10/12/06

there was a time when adults believed that children couldn’t handle the board game clue, because it centers around an unseen murder. maybe 10-15 years ago, that actually was true. all across america, children went to bed after family board game night, thinking that a purple-clad professor would sneak into their bedrooms with a lead pipe. nightmare alert! nightmare alert!

or not. the point is that adults cared enough about kid’s welfare to give them the benefit of the wussy doubt. some kids might be afraid, so let’s make clue for scared babies. these days, however, clue jr. is a stupid idea. kids today want clue extreme, with three times the murder, and a eight times the gore — along with an interactive dvd chock-full of snuff film footage! the irony is that the only people who would play clue jr. these days would be adults who want to relive their childhood. eh. i guess it really doesn’t matter who buys clue jr., so long as milton bradley makes lots of money, and someone — kid or adult — hides a kitten in their shirt. that’ll always get the thumbs up from me! *thumbs up*
