the critic: all hail duke! duke is life!
written by asterios on 10/02/06

oh man, the critic. one of the most ill treated shows ever by a network. i remember it going off ABC for 6 months, then burning off unaired episodes in the summer along with unseen “dinosaurs” eps. but hey, we’ve got hundreds of shitty episodes of boy meets world, so it all works out, right?

when the critic moved from ABC to FOX, it literally blew my mind. (to be fair, it’s not terribly hard to blow my mind). i was like, “wha? but it…and now…wha!?” it would be like if all of a sudden home improvement were on NBC - think about it: does that make any goddamn sense to you? now i’ll blow your mind: “the x-files on CBS.” hah, now you know what it feels like.

i never really got the critic as a kid, but it was animated so i watched it. when i became a teenager and they started running all 23 episodes non-stop on comedy central, my mind was again blown, by how goddamn good it was. any idiot can reference the simpsons, but it takes a real idiot to go, “aw, that’s a duke-tastrophy” or “wait a minute. penguins can’t fly…penguins can’t fly!!!”

you find a girl that references the critic? marry her on the spot. then, when you later get divorced because shared knowledge of a TV show shouldn’t be the sole marriage criteria, go, “buy my book! buy my BOOK! BUY MY BOOK!”
