which carmen sandiego is the greatest of all time? written by geoffrey on 09/26/06
i have presented you with three choices — the computer game, the game show, and the animated series. so, gumshoes, tell me: which incarnation of carmen sandiego is the best?
my opinion? i immediately toss out the cartoon, not because it was bad, but just because it wasn’t as memorable or innovative as the other two. sor-ry! while the computer game was one of my first introductions to gaming in general, and accomplished the task of being fun & making me feel smart at the same time, the game show brings us the dynamic duo of lynn thigpen and the only acapella song that’s popular or worth listening to.
hmm… i’m gonna go with the computer game, as the greater sentimental favorite. you?

I have to go with the games because as an avid lover of all things punny, I can’t pass up anything that includes names like:
Bea Meupscotti
Sharon Sharealike
Polly Esther Fabric
Kitty Litter
Nosmo King
Tippi Canoe (William Henry Harrison jokes. brilliant)
Ivan Idea
Skip Tumelu
Casey Rah Sirah
But come on, what villains did the game show have?
Double Trouble (who were admittedly bad ass despite the shitty name)
Eartha Brute
Contessa
Contessa’s not funny. It’s just a title. Weak.

I choose the game as well, and I submit “For the Longest Time,” “Don’t Worry Be Happy,” and every cue in the history of Doug as my sound arguments. Haha. Get it?
