EMERGENCY POST: JULIA STILES AS A HACKER IN GHOSTWRITER
written by geoffrey on 09/18/06

NEWSFLASH: Though the audio quality is poor, the video you are watching clearly shows a 90’s era pre-teen Julia Stiles as a computer hacker in the PBS series Ghostwriter. We will have more information for you as the story develops.

In the meantime, we strongly recommend that you stay indoors and watch this clip as many times as possible. We expect an official announcement soon regarding school cancelations.

Thanks to evilzug for reporting on this awesome crisis.

DUDE! Seriously, this is a way sexier portrayal of hackers than watching Angelina Jolie smash random buttons on a 14.4 baud PowerBook. And the way she strokes that monitor should seriously have gotten some gingham’d-up hausfrauen in Nebraska marching up to D.C. to demand the eradication of PBS for its portrayal of 12-inch-monitors as glowing sex toys. There’s some serious sub-cult sub-text being scrolled along here, and it’t don’t take no ghostwritin’ sorcery to see the dialectic of love and machine need’s sleuthin’ here! “Computer Blue, Is Julia Styles Ready?”

Those were the days when no one really understood what a computer, or the internet was. Especially not the media.

On another note, Ghostwriter is on YouTube?? I keep forgetting how thorough and amazing that site is.
