at first, i thought it was an animaniacs bit. it felt all animaniacsy - i tend to associate sharp parody with animaniacs, and animated they might be giants music videos with tiny toons, but i’m really happy for tiny toons that they got this one right. by the end of his song, you want the pumpkin guy to get hit so badly. anvil, pie to the face, nothing is too good for that emo pumpkin a-hole. is it his slow, “emotional” lyrics about holiday boredom? or the way he uses his dog as kleenex? no, the thing that does it is his eye twitch. before he goes to grab the doorknob, his eye twitches a little. i’ve seen it before — it’s the universal cartoon symbol for “i’m so overcome with emotion that i’m not paying attention to important things, or reading into signs correctly.” big mistake, pal.

all in all, a good fake-out opening for tiny toons. although i’m kind of sad we never get to see the pumpkin guy in president’s day land.
