on the surface, silver hawks looks like any other 80s action cartoon. four soldiers become cyborgs to stop a sorcerer - pretty standard stuff. the show stands out by having the most insane collection of characters anywhere on television to this day.

one of our heroes, the jet pilot “blue grass”, was a hick with a guitar that shot people with beautiful music. show had a set of twin heroes named “steel will” and “steel hart” - awesome. another character: the copper kid from the planet of the mimes. yes, you heard me, planet of the mimes. what the fuck were these people thinking?

The villains were even better - names like “yes man”, “mumbo jumbo”, “molecu-lar”, and my favorite…“poker face”. sure, molecu-lar will trick you with his shape shifting abilities, but poker face will…uh…poker face will totally take you in a card game. how can you tell if he’s bluffing? his robot face is oft expressionless!

needless to say i loved this show - check it the fuck out.
