video: gallagher uses a helicopter to lift cars
in my youth, i loved things. i loved things much more than, say, persons or places, so naturally, prop comedy was the height of humor. as a kid, i had prop comedy and i had puns, and now, you jerks have taken both of them from me and claimed that they’re not cool. p-shaw! you want cool? well, the iceman cometh, and his name be gallagher.
i’d bet he’s the only stand-up comic who did a bit with a helicopter, an enormous couch, and a rainbow flying machine, and still had enough time to break some goddamn mellons and run for california governor. could you do that? could you even do a carrot top routine?!
if the answer is “yes,” then you must be carrot top, so surely, even you, carrot top, would bow to the grand master of prop comedy. gallagher also did regular stand-up routines which were funny — but anyway… holy shit, that was a big couch.

I don’t think I get it. I think to really understand this bit, I need to realize that first of all, it’s not funny. Even if I figured out what Gallagher was going for, it’s not going to be funny. So is this for those of us who have unneeded cars sitting around? Like a “You Might Be A Redneck If…” you’ve got a car lying on your lawn and you need a helicopter to remove it? Was this supposed to be a military helicopter? Because Gallagher keeps saying something about our tax dollars paying for it. And you can always tell someone’s a Republican when they keep mentioning that something was paid for by ‘tax dollars’.
But holy shit that’s a big couch. On the couch, how come all the props he pulls out of the couch are giant, excapt the hair dryer? Giant potato chip, giant shoe, giant condom, regular-sized hair dryer. What up?
