remember when school shootings were hilarious?
written by geoffrey on 09/05/06

little did i realize, when listening to one of my sister’s comedy mix tapes, which also included the songs “boot to the head” and “fish heads” (roly poly fish heads!), that this hilarious song about a high school massacre would become ‘tasteless’ and ‘inappropriate’ two decades later. damn it! if i went back in time, and explained this to my younger self, he would have laughed at me, then stepped on my shoe and said, “you’re a jerk!” well, deny it all you want, past self, but that day is coming — whether you like it or not!

julie brown and pearl jam have very little in common, and i can’t imagine they listen to each other’s music (and feel good about themselves), but they both wrote songs that predict columbine, and for that they each received, “the columbine prediction award,” given out annually via u.s. mail to those who predicted the events of columbine in a song, movie, or television special (they each won an unframed certificate).

it’s kind of sad how this video lost some of its campy charm by becoming somewhat relavent. but on the plus side, the video effect of the cheerleader getting her head shot off is precious, and i’m glad the glee club died, too. those guys were a bunch of a-holes! a-holes and assholes. they were both!

Hey its no longer on Youtube. Could you post the song’s name or maybe the chorus if you don’t have the title?
