describing california dreams is pretty complicated, but i’ll give it a shot. first, take saved by the bell, then…well, then i guess stop, because california dreams is pretty much just saved by the bell. that was easy!
here’s the thing, though: i knew that, yet could not stop watching it as a kid. it’s like it was programmed into my DNA or something: SCHEMER CHARACTER + HOT GIRLS + HUNK = SAVED BY THE BELL = MUST WATCH SAVED BY THE BELL = MUST WATCH CALIFORNIA DREAMS.

i had no choice in the matter! half an hour later i’d come out of a daze and think, shit, i better get started on my homework. it’s all ready 7pm - i’m cutting this really close.

if i spent all the time watching california dreams and saved by the bell after school on homework, would i have gone to harvard? no question. but would i have learned more? i’m thinking no. if there’s one thing these two shows taught you, it was that in life, you gotta scheme, scheme, scheme. and look at me today: president of scheme & farce incorporated.
