sega genesis just wasn’t big enough written by dave on 08/24/06
that commercial showed those nintendo players what for, eh?! they’re all playing on a dead system — dead. worthless. outdated. after all, who’s heard of a nintendo anymore? sega has absolutely taken over the gaming business.
oh wait… no, reverse that.
but i had a genesis back in the day, and there were plenty of great games for it. i got the sega cd, ’cause there was a fantastic spiderman game where you can punch old ladies and cops. so that was cool. then i got the 32x, and at this point, my little genesis had become some kind of armor-plated supersoldier that weighed about three hundred and eighty pounds — of pure gaming excitement! mostly because i could still play genesis games with that worthless 32x on top of it.
it was just before sega would have introduced the stapled-on genesis ten-foot-tall supertower of ultimate power that their company opted to leave the poor genesis alone. it had suffered enough.
