“saved by the bell” reunion written by eric on 08/16/06
when i was younger, i had something of an un-natural connection to “saved by the bell.” some might say i still have that connection, but when has a psychologist ever been right? the point is, “saved by the bell” was the best friend i ever had, and like all best friends, they eventually have to leave. when zach morris, a.c. slater, and the rest of the bayside gang graduated, it was the end of a golden age. we (meaning “me”) would never be able to recapture that glory.
as you can imagine, i was livid when they had the gall to create a “new class.” how dare they?! did these rookies really think they would be as california-fun as the previous class? no one was as smooth-talking as zach morris, as goofy as screech, as unbelievably hot as kelly kapowski! as far as i was concerned, bayside’s halls were forever empty.
which brings us to this episode of “saved by the bell: the new class.” apparently, bayside is going to get torn down, much to the dismay of mr. belding and the students. who cares? burn the building down for all i care…
…but then something magical happened. some of its most distinguished alumni returned to help save the school. and that’s when i realized that just because you may graduate bayside, it doesn’t mean you have to stop loving the school.
thank you zach morris. thank you for restoring my faith in the magic of bayside. and thank you audience; your girlish screams totally blew out the speakers on my computer.
(i still don’t like the new class, though. talk about no charisma!)
