drew carey show: best comedy of the 90’s?
| written by asterios on 07/31/06 | 1 comment |
try and think of another 90’s comedy that had so much crazy fun in it. sure, seinfield’s the rock of 90’s comedy, but when you’re talking purely good times, it’s the drew carey show. it had:
* an evil british boss (whom mimi addicts to heroin, then seduces)
* a story arc where half of drew’s house is stolen (they actually cut the set in half)
* a one time format change to a sketch show, entitled Drew Carey’s Back-to-School Rock ‘n’ Roll Comedy Hour
* insanely well done musical numbers
* henry rollins and joey ramone.

mario happy meals! (mario not included)

Mario was impossible to find. That should have been a warning on the commercial - it would have saved me a lot of grief as a child.
The Truth: No McDonald’s happy meal ever had a Mario toy. Everytime I got a Happy Meal in 1989, I was disappointed to find another Para Troopa in my “magic box” (in the ad, Ronald calls his Happy Meal a “magic box,” which was also his nickname for his vagina).
Actually, the Para Troopa was pretty cool, but I’ll tell you what was NOT cool: McDonald’s hoarding the Mario toys. They flooded their Happy Meals with fatty foods, Para Troopas, and lies.
And we suffered in silence.
